Students search for negative examples of wasting energy and environmental resources in the school building and find solutions to improve the energy effectiveness.
The findings where transformed into texts (in different languages) by word processing, images (image processing) and using QR codes to implement information into multimedia cards or bookmarks. This use of ICT to produce useful products increases the digital skills of teachers and the students in an enjoyable manner and combines several subjects (research, language, informatics, communication)

Detailed description
Over the whole school year a group of students (7th and 8th graders) were working continuously on job orientation projects. On voluntary basis they met every Monday afternoon in a special room (called « Meeting Point/ Treffpunkt). They acted as Peer-Group (« Green Boys » and « Green Girls ») and initiated the following campaign and explored the school building. These « Energy Detectives » took photos of positive and negative examples. Furthermore students and teachers of other classes were motivated to take part in the campaign and to focus on « Energy topics » in several subjects. 5th graders, who ate taught in three languages (Bosnian/Serbian/Croatian and Turkish), drew pictures and found slogans, which were translated in their mother language. In computer lesson students of other classes participating in the campaign scanned drawings, did research and packed information in QR codes, and finally designed multimedia cards or bookmarks. These cards and bookmarks will be distributed on June 2012 to classmates, teachers and visitors of the “Career information Day “, which is planned and organized by the students of the Peer group. In addition these boys and girls worked with students of the University of Economics on the topic "Global Footprint" and created questionnaires for their classmates.
